Download the ion 0.6 package, and unzip it in a directory (without space in the name. ex c:\ion). You must have a sun jdk1.4 installed on your system (make sure to install a sdk and not a jre). Set the JAVA_HOME environnement variable to point your JAVA installation directory (or install the jdk in the ion/jdk directory). Click the start script to launch the server. Close the shell to stop the server.

ion applications url are :

• http://localhost:9001 - for the frontoffice
• http://localhost:9001/backoffice - for the backoffice
• http://localhost:9001/admin-ion - for the low level admin
• http://localhost:9001/export - for the static export

3 users are created by default on the distribution.

• user/user (writers)
• webmaster/webmaster (writers, webmasters)
• admin/admin (writers, webmasters, admins)

Members of writers group can write some contents. Members of webmasters group can approve/publish contents. Members of admins can manage the site structure, the backoffice security and the multimedia resources.
